I was invited to be a guest chef on Bong Appetit, a show on edgy media channel VICELAND. Since I’ve been promoting my episode, which will air tonight at 10:30 PM EDT, there’s been a lot of controversy. I’ve lost a few fans on Facebook, but I was surprised I earned even more new followers.

I don’t like to stir up controversy, but I truly feel I am not doing anything morally wrong. I cooked the food on the show but did not consume it. Cannabis is legal in California where the show is filmed. I’ve read and have heard personal testimonies of people whose health have benefitted from responsible and moderate consumption of cannabis. I know I can’t please everyone, so be it—bye-bye, close-minded folk. I respect that people are entitled to their opinions; I just wish people would respect mine and others’. In ten years, I believe cannabis will be as common and widely accepted as alcohol. If alcohol and cigarettes are legal, then marijuana should be, too; then government can tax the hell out of it and make education and healthcare affordable for everybody.

Enough about politics.

Along with my family, friends, and fans, I’m excited to tune in to tonight’s episode of “Bong Appetit” to see how the whole episode came together. The shoot took two full days, so we’ll see what the editors have done in post-production to whittle it down to a half-hour show.

Comedians and other artists came to dinner to enjoy my infused food, including Reggie Watts from “The Late Late Show with James Corden” and my bestie co-contestant from MasterChef, the lovely Felix Fang!

    Hi Christine. I am sorry you have gotten some backlash over your Bong Appetit appearance. the hypocrisy of these people who look down on Cannabis while they guzzle their alcohol or pump themselves full of prescription pain killers always astounds me. I am a responsible consumer of Cannabis and have been for many years. I hold down a good job and am a productive member of society. I also happen to be blind, and am able to manage my non-24 sleep issues with small to moderate doses of Cannabis. the fact that the feeling is also enjoyable is an added bonus. I applaud you for what you are doing, and am glad you are seeing the hypocrits for what they are.

      Bob, thanks very much for your support and comment. It means a lot to me. I have sleep issues too but have been trying OTC sleep aids.

    Your amazing. I was so excited when I saw you were going to be on the show. Great episode. The fact that you have received backlash is upsetting. There are so many health benefits to this.. it’s not just about getting high anymore. Bullies are a waste of space. Keep it up.
